Nikola Jokic recorded his 200th career triple-double on Wednesday night. The Serbian center achieved the milestone during a 104-91 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. His total of 200 places him nine games behind the all-time record of 209. That record belongs to Russell Westbrook, who retired from the NBA this past summer.
Jokic finished the game in New Orleans with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was his second triple-double of the current season. He previously won the league's Most Valuable Player award in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Jokic has demonstrated consistent play in this statistical category recently. He recorded 34 triple-doubles in each of the last two seasons. He also averaged a triple-double in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaigns.
The all-time leaderboard shows a large gap between the second and third spots. Oscar Robertson holds the third position with 181 career triple-doubles. Jokic is expected to surpass Westbrook's mark in the coming weeks given his current pace.
In a separate game on Wednesday, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Indiana Pacers 114-109. The win occurred on the same night as a new injury for Indiana star Tyrese Haliburton. Haliburton suffered a hamstring injury and will miss at least two weeks. He had played in the first four games of this season before the setback. He averaged 21.3 points and 9.5 assists in those outings. Haliburton missed the entire previous season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers with 27 points. Four other Philadelphia players recorded double-doubles. Joel Embiid contributed 21 points and 11 rebounds. Paul George added 20 points and 10 rebounds. LeBron James recorded 13 points and 10 assists. Anfernee Simons also scored 20 points for the visitors.
On the Pacers side, Pascal Siakam led all scorers with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Andrew Nembhard finished with 18 points and 14 assists. Aaron Nesmith added 18 points. Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 15 points in his first game against his former team.
The Sixers now lead the Eastern Conference with a 4-1 record. The Pacers drop to 2-3 with the loss.
