Cook County Sheriff's Office detectives located a massive cache of stolen Red Bull in a Bridgeview warehouse on Monday. The cans had been taken from a shipment in Joliet two weeks earlier.

The original theft was reported on Oct. 7. Police said the total value of the stolen energy drink was $300,000. Investigators from the sheriff's Organized Retail Crime Unit partnered with the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force to track the goods. The task force identified the likely location of the shipment as a specific warehouse in Bridgeview.

Officers went to the site and recovered 11 pallets of Red Bull that matched the description of the stolen inventory. The haul contained more than 23,000 individual cans. Police estimated the value of the recovered merchandise at approximately $107,000.

The discovery is part of a continuing effort to combat organized retail crime in the region. The investigation into the theft is still ongoing. Authorities have not yet determined who took the shipment or how it reached the warehouse.

This is not the first time large amounts of stolen goods have been found in suburban storage facilities. Last December, police recovered a $2 million shipment of retail items from a warehouse in Oak Forest. That haul included Nike shoes and Dyson products stolen from Joliet. Last month, investigators found $23,000 worth of Dyson hair tools at a warehouse in Orland Park after tracing sales on Facebook Marketplace.
