Halloween evening in Sarasota will likely stay dry, but families planning outdoor activities should prepare for scattered showers during the afternoon. The forecast calls for a warm and humid day that peaks before the trick-or-treating hours begin.

Temperatures will start in the lower 70s at 7 a.m. under mostly cloudy skies. By lunchtime, the sun will break through, pushing the mercury into the lower 80s. The day’s high will reach near 85 degrees in the afternoon.

Humidity levels will drive the heat index to between 90 and 91 degrees. Winds will pick up speed, creating gusty conditions that may challenge loose costumes. Rain chances remain near 10 percent through the morning. That figure climbs to 30 percent after 2 p.m., bringing the potential for a few scattered showers through the early evening.

The weather improves as night falls. Temperatures will drop from the lower 80s at 6 p.m. to the upper 70s by 9 p.m. While the air will remain humid, the chance of rain drops sharply after 8 p.m. This timing aligns with the end of typical trick-or-treating hours.

Residents can expect a mostly dry finish to the night. The combination of cooling temperatures and reduced precipitation makes the evening suitable for walking neighborhoods. However, the earlier humidity and afternoon rain risks mean that keeping an umbrella nearby is a practical precaution for the afternoon hours.
