Three DIY Night Lamp Ideas Bring Paw Patrol Pups Into the Bedroom
Craft projects built from a soda bottle, a glass jar, or a cardboard cup turn Paw Patrol characters into soft lighting for children's rooms.

Paw Patrol, the Canadian animated series following Ryder and his team of rescue puppies, can now move from the screen to a child's bedside table through three do-it-yourself night lamp projects. Each design uses household materials and requires no special tools beyond scissors or a craft cutter.
The first design builds a lamp from a clear plastic soda bottle of 1.5 or 2 liters. The top and bottom of the bottle are cut away to leave the central cylinder, which is then lined with translucent paper such as vegetable or cellophane paper to soften the light. Colored craft foam in blue or red is cut into character details, for example Chase's police badge or Marshall's firefighter helmet, and pasted to the outside. A black cardstock silhouette of the puppy is added as a decorative shadow element. A battery-operated LED string light is fed through the open base, with the battery pack secured in place.
The second project turns a clean jam or coffee jar into a lamp. A thin layer of diluted blue or pink acrylic paint is applied to the exterior, either with a brush or a sponge, to create a translucent finish that lets light pass through. Character silhouettes such as Rubble, Zuma, or Rocky are drawn or traced onto vegetable paper and cut out, then attached to the inside of the jar with school glue diluted in water. Once dry, the silhouettes remain visible in a translucent form. A battery-operated LED candle or small LED light base goes inside the jar, which is then closed.
The third option functions as a projector. A sturdy cardboard cup or cylindrical cardboard potato chip canister is lined inside and bottom with aluminum foil to reflect light. Dog paw prints and small stars are drawn on the cup's base and carefully punched through with an awl or thick needle. Printed badges of the patrol members are pasted to the sides of the cup. A small flashlight is placed inside pointing at the base, or secured at the rear. With the room lights off, the device projects stars and paw prints across the ceiling and walls.
Educators point to crafts as exercises that build creativity, patience, and fine motor skills. The source article also notes that craft projects can serve as a form of disconnection and concentration, allowing people to produce their own ideas while taking a break at home, which has led some adults to adopt the practice as a grounding activity amid daily routines.
Paw Patrol follows Ryder and his rescue puppies and has built a worldwide audience. The series combines teamwork, everyday problem-solving, and friendship themes, which the source article identifies as part of its appeal to both children and adults.
