The Playmaker Munich announced it has secured distribution agreements for the animated feature "The Unicorn That Said No" across multiple international territories. The film is scheduled to have its market premiere at the American Film Market in Los Angeles on Nov. 11.

Distributors have committed to releasing the film in specific regions. Unlimited Media will handle the Baltic states, while WWE Rights will manage the Benelux region. KMBO has acquired rights for France, and Grand Entertainment for Motion Pictures has taken the Middle East.

Additional deals cover Eastern and Central Europe. M2 Films will distribute the movie in Poland, and Idea Film will handle Romania. Another World Entertainment has secured rights for Scandinavia, Pack Magic for Spain, and Orjinlab for Turkey.

In Germany, Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany will release the film on Jan. 1, 2027. The movie adapts "Das Neinhorn," a book by Marc-Uwe Kling and Astrid Henn that has been translated into more than 25 languages. The plot follows a grumpy unicorn who leaves his idyllic family to travel to a place called Nowhere, where he makes new friends and rescues a princess.

Kling directed the film alongside Johannes Weiland and Studio Soi. Kling also wrote the screenplay with Marcus Sauermann and voices the main character in the German version. The German voice cast includes Nora Tschirner, Torsten Sträter, and Karoline Herfurth.

X Filme Creative Pool and Studio Soi produced the film in co-production with Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany. Uwe Schott, Nicole Kellerhals, and Carsten Bunte served as producers. Felix Raffel composed the score, and Dota Kehr wrote the main song. Funding was provided by MFG, MDM, BKM, FFA, and Kuratorium Junger Deutscher Film.

The market premiere is set for 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at AMC Century City in Los Angeles. The Playmaker Munich will be based at the Fairmont Century Plaza during the event. Sylvia Edelmann, head of sales at The Playmaker, said, "It's wonderful to see so many territories on board before the film has even screened." She added that the book is a hit with readers of all ages and that the team looks forward to bringing the character to more audiences.
