The 2026-27 UEFA Women's Champions League enters its third round of league play this week, marking the halfway point of the 36-team competition. The schedule kicks off on Wednesday, October 28, with matches scheduled for both Wednesday and Thursday.

The standings remain tightly packed. Only one team currently holds a perfect record, while others have mixed results. Four rounds of matches remain before the knockout playoffs begin in February. This midseason stretch offers clubs a chance to alter their trajectory or secure a top finish.

Barcelona enters the round as the defending champions and the team with the most points. They defeated Paris FC 5-2 in the first match and beat Roma 6-0 in the second. Their squad includes several Ballon d'Or nominees, with manager Pere Romeu winning coach of the year and goalkeeper Cata Coll named best goalkeeper at Monday's ceremony in London.

Alexia Putellas, now playing for the London City Lionesses, won the women's Ballon d'Or. The award recognized her performance during her final season with FC Barcelona, covering the period from August 2025 to July 2026. Vicky Lopez also received the best young talent award. CBS Sports writer Sandra Herrera described Barcelona's current form as cruising, citing an attack featuring Lopez, Claudia Pina, Kerolin, and Ewa Pajor.

Wednesday's slate includes Chelsea versus Roma and Bayern Munich against Real Madrid, both starting at 1:45 p.m. Eastern. Servette hosts OH Leuven at the same time. At 4 p.m., Arsenal plays Benfica and OL Lyonnes faces Inter.

Thursday, October 29, features Austria Wien against Juventus and Paris FC versus Hacken at 1:45 p.m. Eastern. At 4 p.m., HB Koge hosts Barcelona and Manchester City plays Paris Saint-Germain. Harry Kane was named the men's Ballon d'Or winner at the same London ceremony.
