Three new performers will join the cast of “Ascension,” a drama series set to air on Apple TV. The addition expands the ensemble for the show, which is currently in pre-production.

The network confirmed that Amanda Plummer, Christopher Chung, and T’Nia Miller are now series regulars. Character details for the trio remain confidential. Plummer is known for her work in “Run” and “Butterfly Kiss.” Chung appeared in “Slow Horses” and “My Brilliant Career.” Miller gained recognition for roles in “The Haunting of Bly Manor” and “VisionQuest.”

Caitríona Balfe leads the project as the main character. Bill Nighy also stars in the series. The show adapts the novel “Last Days” by Adam Nevill. The story follows Rose, a documentary filmmaker and recently divorced mother. She investigates a 20th-century group called the Church of Ascension. The narrative explores her personal struggles while she uncovers the group’s hidden secrets.

Alfonso Cuaron co-writes the series with his brother Carlos Cuaron. Natalie Erika James and Christian White also serve as co-writers. All four individuals are executive producers. James and White act as co-showrunners, with James directing the lead episodes. Balfe will also executive produce the series. Alfonso Cuaron produces under his Esperanto Filmoj banner, which holds an overall deal with Apple.

Gabriela Rodriguez and Richard Schwartz from Esperanto Filmoj will executive produce. Steve Golin, David Levine, and Zack Hayden represent Anonymous Content, which is producing the show. Apple Studios serves as the studio partner. The production team is currently finalizing the cast and schedule.

Plummer is represented by Artists Agency in Los Angeles, RED Management, and Markham, Froggert, Irwin in London. Chung works with The Artists Partnership and Link Entertainment. Miller is signed with Identity Agency and Yorn Levine Barnes. The series aims to bring Nevill’s cult thriller to a wide audience through streaming.
